It was released on 1 Mar 2019.A good fighting game all things considered.DOA is closer to Virtua Fighter than any other fighter on the market, though it's quite a bit easier to jump into. The Hold system is one of my favorite additions to a fighting game since 3rd strike parries. Sure, 3rd strike is a more complex game and is much harder to master, but DOA feels like you're on a knifes edge trying to out play your opponent. Doing your strings multiple times is a sure fire way to have your offense crushed with holds. However throwing out holds none stop is a great way to get blown up. You have to hold when you know it will work or you'll just make your situation worse.
This game is good and starting out with a lot of good things. The training system is probably better than most. With combo mode and the technic mode separated out so you can practice both. The game itself has some cool things for the people not looking at the competitive side. The story mode isn't bad and they have the Quest thing this time around. The arcade, Time trail and survival modes are all fun. Outside of them not having custom lobbies, the game is solid at release.
